Research Interests

My main interests are Synthetic Biology and models of biological systems, with focus on the issue of modularity in assembling new functions in living organisms. In particular, I'm interested in designing and implementing simple and complex tasks through a bottom-up approach, relying on the use of mathematical modelling. Another topic of my work is the study of the impact of noise upon the interconnection of quantitatively characterized modules.
