    • Treatment of Clostridium difficile infection through synthetic biology based approaches
    • Study of quorum sensing mechanisms in bacterial pathogens
  • Synthetic Biology in bacteria, in particular:
    • Rational design of synthetic genetic circuits;
    • Mathematical modeling of biological context dependencies;
    • Genetic feedback controllers;
  • CRISPR technology and applications, in particular:
    • CRISPR-interference characterization and exploitation for reduced burden circuit design;
    • CRISPR-interference competition
    • Design of CRISPRi-based genetic controllers
  • Microbiome engineering;
  • Cross-kingdom gene regulation.
